The psychedelic-funk foursome, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, is back in the game with a new perspective in mind. The pandemic may have put their extensive touring journey to a brief halt, but that didn't stop the acclaimed gem of a band from settling down and making great use of their time. Having amassed a loyal following for their consistent touring where they could play as many as two-hundred shows in a year, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong made a mark as one of the most active and daring funk acts in the scene. What seemed to be a daunting threat to their tradition of non-stop shows actually became a powerful moment for the band to gain new perspectives. Earlier this year, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong launched their great comeback with their sixth studio record – "Perspectives".

"Our first thought was, ‘though we can’t play live, we have to keep the music alive, even if just for our own sanity," shared frontman "Scrambled Greg" Ormont, as cited from Grateful Web. "So instead of watching the world go by, we quickly decided to pour all of our creative energy into the studio and rejoice in the healing power of music."

"When touring shut down in 2020, we gained immense perspective. The album title speaks to the perspective of the pandemic as well as our growth over the years," said Ormont.

The new album features their infectious funk and dance-driven hits "Elephante", "Move Like That", and "Sir Real".

"If there’s anything we’ve all gained from this, it’s perspective, and a recurring theme from our band is to not waste time. Now more than ever, we recognize that you only get one life, so you might as well live it to the fullest and lift people up in the process." Ormont shared, as cited from Live for Live Music.

Given the title of "musical explorers" by Rolling Stone, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong has attracted a loyal fanbase – called "The Flock" who stuck around for their infectious jams, psychedelic beats, and intoxicating energy that bursts at the seams at every live show. Pulling out big surprises in every record since "Funk E P", the band's live shows are much sought-after.

As a message for their flock, Ormont says "We hope you listen to ‘Perspective’ and are reminded that life is fleeting yet amazing… dance your heart out every step of the way"
