It’s our time to shine here this October at Stage AE when the Milwaukee heroes, none other than the Violent Femmes, come to the stage for a rocking out show that makes everything they’ve done before this look like child's play. Hitting up thirteen cities across the USA for a special and exclusive Fall run, October 15th is shaping up to be one of the most special nights of the tour - and such fall vibes, am I right?! From the basements of Milwaukee to the biggest stages in the world, Violent Femmes have built a legacy out of grit, charm, and unfiltered honesty—and this time around, they’re bringing it all back home.

Few bands have managed to influence so many while staying so unapologetically themselves like the VIolent Femmes have. You hear them in the DNA of artists like Modest Mouse, The Decemberists, even Nirvana — and yet nobody does it quite like the Femmes. Formed in ‘81 up in Wisconsin., the band made their way by performing like crazy and living a lifestyle that was truly rock and roll, even by the 80s standards. This tour is a reminder of that. It’s scrappy, it’s stripped down, it’s poetic and punk all at once. And if you’ve never seen them live, well, Stage AE is the place to do it. This new tour isn’t just another lap around the country — it’s a full-circle celebration of the music that made them icons. With the 40th anniversary of their seminal self-titled debut album just behind them, the band is leaning into their roots in a big way. At each stop, they’ll be performing both Violent Femmes AND Hallowed Ground in full — two of the most impactful and genre-bending albums of the early '80s, now being revisited with the same raw energy that made them classics. Songs like Blister in the Sun, Kiss Off, Add It Up, and Country Death Song will sound so juicy and fresh on stage now, stripped down and loud as ever. That’s like, too good to be true.
