Aperture Tour

After The Setting Sun

As the sun sets, lights will go up - setting the stage for a beautiful night of folk tunes. With a new album coming out real soon, The Head and The Heart just announced an exciting tour this year. From summer through fall, the indie-folk rockers are giving it their all. With a record dedicated to letting light in amidst darkness, its music is packed with hope. Set to be their most vulnerable, honest, and reflective body of work yet, everyone's in for a sweet treat.

A follow-up to their 2022 release "Every Shade of Blue," the band gave a preview of "Aperture" through their newest singles "After the Setting Sun" and "Arrow". The latter, which included a version featuring Mt. Joy, was released in support of the Los Angeles wildfires victims.

"I believe we’ve made a very great record together and obviously the title is an important aspect of the final product," Gervais said via an official release. "For me, Aperture represents the choice we all must make between resigning ourselves to darkness... To me, it sums up a lot of what each of these songs is grappling with in some form and what we’ve collectively gone through as a band. It’s about choosing hope again and again, no matter how many times it may feel that you have lost it."

Aperture Tracklist:
1. After The Setting Sun
2. Time With My Sins
3. Arrow
4. Beg Steal Borrow
5. Cop Car

You can expect the band to perform a couple of new songs on stage, alongside their fan-favorite hits such as "Down in the Valley", "Lost in My Mind", "Another Story", "Honeybee", and "All We Ever Knew".

More about the album, The Head and The Heart's new record will feature a couple of recording milestones for the band - Kenny Hensley's first time singing and writing lyrics, and Tyler Williams' first time offering lead vocals. Off of the piano and drums respectively, these fellas are taking their music to the next level.

Back to their roots

In 2009, the band released their self-titled debut album, and re-released the record after scoring a record deal. With the success of their hit single "Lost in My Mind", the album took a spot on the Billboard 200. They followed up their high momentum with "Let's Be Still", an album that sold over 200,000 copies in the US thanks to its smash hits "Shake", "Another Story", and its beloved title track.

By 2016, the band proved itself to be a great force in folk music as their third album "Signs of Light" debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200, with its certified-gold single "All We Ever Knew". Finding their big break, the band soon caught much of the public eye, and performed at Coachella, a show at the Red Rocks, and Lollapaloooza.

"The more you can trust and feel the ability to be vulnerable as you’re making art, you make way bolder statements. You don’t guard yourself. Songwriting is its own form of therapy for all of us," Russell said about their LP "Every Shade of Blue".

This time, get ready to let the light in "After the Setting Sun" comes through your lens. On tour, they'll be joined by Wilderado & Marfa as special guests in Pittsburgh. Aperture is set to open up or close yourselves off... You decide. Book those tickets now!
