The Decemberists at The Stage AE

The Decemberists are starting the spring season with a bang! They just released their new single, “Burial Ground,” which features an appearance from James Mercer from The Shins. The single provides listeners with an almost nostalgic feel with a 60’s 60-inspired arrangement with captivating vocal harmonies and melodies. In line with the release of their new single, the band just plotted the dates for their massive outing, titled A Peaceful Kingdom North American Tour. The trek delivers 30 coveted shows across the U.S. and Canada, with shows spread across spring and summer. Lucky for fans in Pennsylvania, the tour will make its way to Pittsburgh for a much-awaited stop at Stage AE. Fans can look forward to a thrilling evening as The Decemberists cover their career-spanning hits on their one-night spectacle. They can expect iconic hits like “Don’t Carry It All,” “Here I Dreamt I Was An Architect,” “Down By the Water,” and many more. Aside from old works, fans can also anticipate new songs, like their recently released “Burial Ground.”

The song is their first single in six years, and its release signifies exciting things to come. The Decemberists released their latest album, I’ll Be Your Girl, in 2018. The highly-regarded effort peaked at number 9 on the Billboard 200, as well as entering the charts in numerous countries. In the same year, The Decemberists also dropped their latest EP, Traveling On, peaking at number 10 on the Top Folk Albums chart.
